Baby Shower Games: Animal Games

What’s a baby shower without a rubber duckling or two? Tap into your wild side with these animal games.

Pick a Duck

Purchase or borrow enough toy ducks so that there is one duck for each baby shower guest. Fill a baby bathtub with water and put the ducks in it. On the bottom of one duck, make a distinctive, special marking.  Ask each guest to pick a duck, and the one who gets the special duck gets a door prize. After the shower, donate at least a few ducks to the mom-to-be for all those baths to come.

Baby Animal Names

Here's a chance to test your guests' knowledge of the animal kingdom. Make a list of 10 to 20 animals and ask your guests to write down the particular word for that animal's baby. Do your research beforehand so you have an answer key. Some unusual ones include: dolphin (baby is calf); alligator (baby is hatchling); swan (baby is cygnet). When everyone is finished, read the correct words out loud and have guests score themselves. Give a prize to the guest with the highest score.
