Add a sense of mystery to your baby shower with these games. Who knows? Maybe you’ll discover a private eye in your midst!
Baby Birthday Pool
This baby shower standby is always a hit. You'll need a sheet of paper and a pen for each guest; or, if you prefer, a single calendar and pen to pass around. Before beginning the game ask the mom-to-be to tell everyone what her anticipated due date is. Remind everyone that only 5 percent of babies are born on their due dates! Then ask each guest to predict the day and the time of day the baby will be born and write the prediction on the paper or calendar. You can promise to give a prize to each person that picks the accurate day, and also to the person who most closely picks the time of day. Don't forget to send those prizes out after the baby is born.
Guess the Famous Mom
Before your guests arrive, make a list of some famous mothers — you can choose a category like mothers in fiction, mothers from current or classic TV shows or movies, or whatever you wish. Then write each name on a strip of paper and attach the strip to the back of each guest, without letting the guest see the name. Ask everyone to walk around and ask questions of the other guests to figure out whose name is on her back.
