Almost but not quite

August 01, 2013

The extra protection diapers have amazing absorbency, I mean they truly absorbs way more than other diapers of any brand, period. The trouble is they were designed like cruiser diapers, with room for my son to move around in. I need them to be sleep diapers without any leg adjustments or gaps. When my son rolls around at night the diapers leak terribly out of the sides. Also the gel pocket near the top of the diaper, bulges up above the waist line when saturated, and then soaks urine into my son's night shirt and onto the bed. If pampers could please expand the legs outward by even a 1/2 inch on each side, and create a soak free band at the top of the diaper, this product would be my go to find of the century. I want it to work sooooo badly because I NEED my sleep and my son is a heavy night wetter. Pampers please fix these crucial elements ASAP!!! because the absorbency factor truly is exceptional.

very disappointed in these diapers

mommy3226 November 14, 2011

I have tried using thse in my son's current size (4) and one size larger. In both cases, about half of the time, he wakes up to an exploded diaper. By this, I mean the inside absorbant material explodes out through the top front seam and ends up all over him and his bed. It is an extreme mess. I wish they would just leak if they got too full rather than come apart. I have tortured my poor son with these sub-par diapers long enough...we will be switching brands for overnight. It is such a shame Pampers cannot design a better overnight diaper.

Response from Pampers

Dee, Consumer Care November 16, 2011

I’m sorry about your experience with gel coming out of our Pampers diapers and I regret any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm sure it was upsetting and I want you to know we certainly share your concern. Our number one purpose at Pampers is caring for babies, so your feedback is important. The absorbent gelling material used in the padding to absorb wetness has a long history of safe use in a variety of products and has been in Pampers diapers for more than two decades. Absorbent gelling material (AGM) is closely related to ingredients widely used in cosmetics and in food packaging. When added to our diapers, the AGM is dry and granular but it forms a gel as it absorbs liquid. While it's perfectly normal to see some gel on the skin from time to time, especially if the diaper is heavily saturated, what you've described shouldn’t have happened. With that said, please consider giving us a call at (800) 726-7377.

BACK TO HUGGIES!

December 28, 2011

I have tried all diapers it seems and as my 25lb, 14 month old needs extra protection at night we went to Huggies Overnights! They're perfect! My husband bought Pampers Extra Protection Size 4, thinking because they were Pampers they would be better. I have used 6 diapers out of the pack, two nights of which I changed my son twice in the middle of the night, there is no way it would have not leaked. The last two nights the diaper totally burst open and the filler/absorbant ick was covering his body and out his sleeper around his neck down his legs....directly into the shower! I am disappointed that Pampers has no contact number on the box for comments or concerns. Walmart will not return the diapers because the box is open..I am a disappointed parent FOR SURE! I thought I was the only one this may have happened too but have read other reviews and I am not...I would hope Pampers would look into this...

Worst Pampers Experience

bjjunck December 18, 2011

My son is normally in Size 3 diapers. We bought Size 4 for overnight since he had been leaking about 3-4 nights a week. I tried these for 2 nights and they were horrible. He leaked worse then before and the diaper broke both nights on the top so I had a gel mess in the morning. I unzipped his pajamas and had so much diaper suff inside he needed a bath in order for me to clean up everything. He moves around a lot at night and these diapers are not designed for him at all. I have been an extremely faithful Pampers user but was extremely disappointed. I'll still use their normal diapers but not the overnighters.
