I have always used and loved the swim diapes for older daughter when she was a baby, they did the trick. However my almost two year old is a lot smaller than she was and I wish that pampers made a smaller swim diaper the 16-34 lb. range just doesn't cut it for her. She weighs 21 lbs. but she has little legs in which if she does mess....it all leaks out! They are fine for our little pool, but when we are in public...i have to use the Huggies, which do contain everything for her. I guess it all depends on the shape of your child.
