If your child has a current or past health concern, get copies of her medical records and keep them in a binder. New health care providers will have all the information they need, and your memory won't be put on the spot.
These tips also might come in handy:
- If your child's history is particularly complicated, ask your primary health care provider to dictate a one-page summary to put in the front of the notebook.
- If your child is taking any medication, always bring the containers with you when you go to the health care provider or visit any kind of health care facility.
