Question
Is it a problem if my 10-month-old walks only on her tiptoes?
Answer
Your daughter is just an early walker now, so give her a chance to get a real pattern going before you become too concerned. Bring this issue up at her 12- or 15-month well child checkup and have her health care provider really look at her walking, her other movement patterns, and her general development. When making the appointment, let the office staff know you have a concern so there will be plenty of time to give everything a good look. Make a morning appointment so your daughter will be at her cooperative best. You will most likely get reassurance on this issue. If there seems to be a problem, you have lots of time to evaluate this further.
