How it Plays
To make a ramp, slant a wooden board or plastic tray against a stack of books. Then place an empty milk carton or plastic bottle at the bottom of the ramp. Position your older baby or toddler at the top of the ramp, give her a ball, and let her try sending the ball down the ramp to the target. She will enjoy watching the ball zooming down the ramp and toppling the carton or bottle. Try a variety of different-size balls to see which ones she likes best. Variation: The next time you go to the playground, let your toddler stand at the base of the slide. Show her how to roll a ball up the slide, and help her catch it on the way back down.
What You'll Need
Learning and Growing
This is a wonderful way to develop your baby or toddler's eye-hand coordination. It's also an engaging way for her to explore the ideas of big, bigger, and biggest as she plays with different balls.
