Question
Why do the eyes of my almost 2-month-old roll back when she sleeps?
Answer
When babies (or adults for that matter) are in a deep sleep, their eyes will often roll back. We usually don't see this because the eyes are closed. Check with your baby's doctor to make sure the muscles around her eyelids are normal. If her eyes open and close normally and symmetrically when she is awake, she most likely has no muscle problems around the eyes. She is just fully relaxed and sleeping deeply.
