  • Are the ingredients in Pampers safe for babies?
  • Yes. All materials in Pampers products—from diapers and training pants to wipes—are thoroughly evaluated to be safe and gentle for babies. Pampers only uses ingredients that have been confirmed to be safe for babies. That’s The Pampers Safety Promise. The materials we use are common in baby products and safely used by millions of babies around the world, every day.

  • How do you choose the ingredients in your products?
  • Pampers carefully chooses each diaper and wipes component based on both its safety profile and excellent efficacy in helping keep baby’s skin dry and healthy. At each stage of development, we evaluate and assess every ingredient to deem it safe before it comes in contact with your baby’s skin. We only use ingredients that have been confirmed to be safe for baby.

  • Are the colors in Pampers diapers safe for my baby’s skin? Do you use disperse dyes?
  • The colors in Pampers diapers are safe, non-sensitizing pigments carefully evaluated for safety. Proven safe for infants and children and commonly used in products like contact lenses and food packaging, they are used for fun design and to indicate different components of the diaper. We don’t use disperse dyes in Pampers products.

  • Does Pampers add chlorine to its products?
  • No. Pampers uses an elemental chlorine-free process to purify ingredients in our products. The U.S. EPA, FDA and other expert groups consider this method to be safe and dioxin-free.

  • Are Pampers diapers scented?
  • The perfumes as used in Pampers diapers are considered safe for baby's skin, are non-sensitizing and are not expected to cause any allergic reaction. In fact, Pampers Powder Fresh Scent has been used in diapers for more than 20 years.

  • Are Pampers wipes gentle enough for my baby’s skin?
  • Pampers wipes are clinically proven to be mild even on sensitive skin. Developed based on years of expertise in skin care and baby products, Pampers wipes are designed to be mild and effective. In fact, research shows that Pampers baby wipes help maintain natural pH, and are milder than water and washcloth on baby’s skin.

  • Are Pampers wipes safe to use on my baby's face and hands?
  • Yes. Whether on the playground, in the highchair or at the changing table, Pampers wipes clean up messes gently and effectively. While specifically designed for diaper change cleanup, Pampers wipes are safe for use on other body parts — including the face — and can be used at every diaper change. They are gentle for baby’s skin and are assessed to ensure they do not cause allergies or skin irritation.

  • Are Pampers Sensitive wipes fragrance free and hypoallergenic?
  • Yes. Pampers Sensitive wipes are both fragrance free and hypoallergenic. They have been clinically tested and found to be as gentle to the skin as wash cloth and water alone.

  • What is polypropylene, and why is it used in my baby’s diaper?
  • Polypropylene is a soft, high performance fiber used in clothing, food storage and a variety of other personal care products. As with all components of Pampers diapers, polypropylene is used because it has a proven safety profile, and contributes to our design for baby comfort, fit and dryness.

  • What is petrolatum, and why is it used in my baby’s diaper?
  • Pampers diapers include a thin layer of skin care lotion that helps maintain healthy skin. Petrolatum is part of that lotion, and is commonly used in personal care products for lubrication and moisture protection, including lip balm. The skin care lotion in Pampers diapers is not only proven safe and gentle, it actually helps maintain skin health.

  • Why is there adhesive in my baby’s diaper? Is that safe?
  • The adhesive in Pampers diapers is tucked away from baby’s skin, and is used in many common products—including shoes. These adhesives have been thoroughly tested and evaluated for safety and efficacy for your baby.
