Quite literally meaning “man from the Adriatic”, the most famous Adrian was probably the Roman emperor who built a wall to keep out the British. Parts of Hadrian’s Wall still exists, as the does the name Adrian, or the French Adrien, the slightly shorter variant of the emperor’s name. It’s a strong, masculine name for your little man, as popular as today as it was in Roman times!
